Proposal · Scope of Work

Ten years of goodwill, and nowhere to spend it after 6pm.

A real online store for The Little Beehive, wired to the register you already use. Built so summer and January stop being holes in the year.

Section 01 · The short version

You have two problems, and they need fixing in the right order.

Nobody can find you online. And the people who do find you have nowhere to buy. Those look like one problem. They are not, and the second one has to go first.

Fixing visibility before you have a store is just paying to send strangers to a page that cannot take their money. So we build the store, connect it to the register you already run, and then point traffic at something that actually converts.

01

Nobody finds you

Ten years in business and people still search your category and land on somebody else. Social is doing all the work, and even a sale post barely moves.

02

Nowhere to buy

The site you built yourselves does the job of a business card. It cannot take an order, so every sale still has to walk through the front door.

Field note

Ten years of regulars is the asset here. Most shops your age are trying to buy an audience. You already have one, it just has no way to spend money on a Tuesday night.

Section 02 · The math on the quiet months

Five months a year, the only channel you have goes quiet.

Foot traffic is the whole business right now. So when foot traffic stops, revenue stops with it. By your own read, that is roughly three months in the summer and two after Christmas.

Revenue channels available, by month
Dead zone, no online sales to offset Foot traffic carrying it

An online store does not replace the shop. It gives you something to sell through in the five months the shop cannot: early access for regulars, a clearance push in January, and "we ship now" all summer.

Section 03 · What you'd be buying

Three ways in. Same $50 hosting either way.

This is the Upcycle, our standing offer for local shops with a website that is not pulling its weight. You own the site and the domain. Hosting is $50/mo, locked for life, and it never goes up as long as you host with us.

Revamp

$1,000
once · + $50/mo for life

Best fit if the content is fine and it is the look and the phone experience letting you down.

  • Keep your existing pages and words, rebuilt with real design
  • Mobile-first pass, because that is where they actually look
  • Accessibility and SEO cleanup, redirects preserved
  • Moved onto our hosting, old host cancelled for you
  • No online store

Rebuild

$2,500
once · + $50/mo for life

Best fit if you want to start clean and get found, but selling online can wait a season.

  • Built from scratch, designed around your shop, not a template
  • Per-page interview so nothing stale carries over
  • Search-structured pages for your categories
  • Google Business Profile claimed and filled out properly
  • No online store
Recommended

Rebuild + Commerce

$4,000
once · + $50/mo for life

Best fit if the point is to sell in the months the doors are quiet. This is the one that solves the actual problem.

  • Everything in Rebuild
  • A real storefront, wired two-way to your register: products, inventory, orders
  • No cap on your catalog, at any size
  • Email and text list set up so you can run the quiet months
  • Free Google Shopping listings
  • Loyalty program switched on and wired in, so regulars earn points in the shop and online
  • One inventory to manage. You keep working out of your register
On the catalog

No product limit and no per-item fee. Our old boutique build ran past a thousand products on one register sync, so bring the whole floor. Seasonal stuff too.

Two ways to pay, whichever suits the season.

Same total either way. No interest, no financing company, no credit check. Numbers below are for Rebuild + Commerce.

Option A · Pay in two
$2,000 up front
then $2,000 at launch · + $50/mo for life

Done in about three weeks and paid off before the summer. Simplest option if the cash is there now.

Option B · Monthly
$400/mo × 10
no deposit · then drops to $50/mo for life

Nothing due to start. Build begins on the first payment, and the store is live and selling long before the last one. After month 10 you are on the $50 hosting and nothing else.

If you take the monthly

The site goes live in week 3 either way. You are not waiting ten months for a store, you are just spreading what it cost.

Then month to month, two ways to keep it running.

The build is a one-time cost. This is what happens after launch, and you can switch between the two whenever you want.

Hosting only
$50/mo
locked for life · cancel any time
  • Fast hosting, SSL, daily backups, uptime monitoring
  • The price never goes up, as long as you host with us
  • You add your own products and make your own edits
Best fit if you want the keys and no help
Most shops your size Care retainer
$250/mo
hosting included · 30-day cancel notice
  • Everything in hosting only
  • Catalog upkeep: new arrivals added, prices and stock corrected, sold-out lines retired
  • Seasonal swaps: homepage, banners and featured products changed out for you, including the January and summer pushes
  • Platform, security and integration updates, plus a quarterly freshness pass
  • A 30-minute check-in each month and a priority line for anything urgent
  • Up to five change requests a month, no hourly billing
Keeps the store current and selling. Not an ad budget
Which one, honestly

If you are bringing a full floor of inventory online, somebody has to keep it current or the store goes stale by October. If that somebody is going to be you, take the $50 and keep the difference.

Section 04 · The register question

Before you spend anything, we confirm your Lightspeed plan.

You are on Lightspeed, which is good news: you keep it. Nobody is asking you to relearn your register. But Lightspeed sells several products under one name, and they do not all connect the same way.

If you are onThe store runs onWhat that means for you
Lightspeed X-Series
most likely
Shopify, official two-way sync Products, inventory and orders move both directions on Lightspeed's own supported integration. Cleanest path.
Legacy eCom or Onsite A different bridge, quoted then That integration does not exist on the older products. We would price the workaround, or move you to a platform that does sync, and you would see the number before agreeing to it.
Swipe the table →

So the first thing on the schedule is a look at your Lightspeed account, not an invoice. If it turns out the sync needs a workaround, the price changes before the work starts, not after.

Straight with you

We have shipped this exact build on Square, past a thousand products. Lightspeed to Shopify would be our first. That is why it gets its own checkpoint up front instead of a promise here.

Section 05 · Scope

What's in, what isn't, all on the table.

In the build

  • Kickoff call, then a per-page interview so no stale hours, prices or staff carry over
  • Design round with your approval before we go deep
  • Full build, mobile-first, WCAG AA contrast pass
  • Register sync: catalog, inventory, orders
  • Checkout, order confirmation emails, shipping set to your rules
  • Redirects, meta, schema, sitemap, so ten years of search history survives
  • DNS cutover walked with you, old hosting cancelled
  • A 30-minute walkthrough for you and your staff
  • 30 days of fixes after launch

Not in the build

  • Product photography and product descriptions
  • Ongoing social posting or content production
  • Paid ads and ad spend
  • Ongoing review generation and local listing management. The initial Google Business Profile setup is included
  • Custom shipping or tax logic past what Lightspeed and Shopify do out of the box

Any of it can be added. None of it is a surprise line item, and we quote it when you ask, not before.

Section 06 · Timeline

About three weeks, once we have your catalog.

00
Before anything is owed

Free homepage mockup

We build your homepage, upcycled, and send it to you. No cost, no commitment. You decide with a picture in front of you instead of a description.

01
Week 1

Lightspeed check, then interviews and design

Confirm the plan and the sync path. Per-page interview. Design for home, category, product and cart, then your approval.

02
Week 2

Build and connect the register

Pages built, catalog pulled in, inventory sync running, checkout wired and tested against a sandbox.

03
Week 3

Test orders, cutover, launch

Real end-to-end test purchase with a confirmation you can see land. Then DNS cutover, live, and the walkthrough with your staff.

Section 07 · Getting found

The store is the visibility plan.

Getting found is not a separate product we sell you later. Most of it is built into the site itself, which is why the build comes first.

Google Shopping needs a working store, so it arrives with Commerce. The rest lands with Rebuild and up.

Once it is live and we can see which products actually move, we will know where a review push or a small local ad budget would pay for itself. That is a conversation with your real numbers in front of us, and it is a much better conversation than the one we could have today.

Field note

The quickest win here is not an ad. It is ten years of regulars finally having a link they can send to a friend.

Section 08 · Start here

Let us build the homepage first. Free.

No deposit, no commitment. We take what you have, upcycle the homepage, and send it over. If you like it, we talk about the rest. If you don't, you keep the mockup and we go away.

Takes about a day. No card, no call, no obligation.
Or skip the form

The email option comes pre-written, just fill in the three blanks.
